MTV Roadies 9, Hyderabad auditions; The complete story!

So here it is!! I haven’t rushed into posting this one ‘cos I didn’t want to miss on the minutest of details.

It all started off with a call on Monday, Oct 10th '11 from an MTV representative. MTV India wanted me to be its official blogger from Hyderabad. The Roadies 9 Hyderabad auditions were to be held in the city the next day itself! The opportunity came through, thanks to Blogadda. I was surprised I was picked from Hyderabad, considering there isn't a dearth of good bloggers from Hyderabad. Lekin hum bhi kisi se kum nahin :D..

11-10-11-- Fancy date for the Auditions eh! :D

I reached Satya Sai Nigamam; the venue for the Auditions. I've been there before. That was where I was first mightily confused if what happened was Crush, Infatuation or Love!! It was exhilarating already at the venue and that tiny little trip down the memory lane added to the excitement :D

The participants' queue extended to about 200 meters outside the gate at 10:30 in the morning. A lot of them apparently stayed there the entire night so they could be early birds in the queue! These many wannabe Roadies-- wow!!

Lucky for me, I didn't have to wait for a minute outside the gate. I called Gayatri and she was kind enough to come out and take me in. The gates shut behind me, with all the wannabes trying to comprehend what just happened! She handed me a tag, which would give me unlimited access to any place in the venue! Exciting, ain't it!

Blaring music, electrifying atmosphere and a lot of noise guided me to the auditorium. The auditorium wasn't full. It was half full with about 1000-1200 people already in there. I met a few participants, spoke to them. To most, becoming a Roadies was the only ambition!

Term them as fanatics, die-hard followers or whatever, I got to see a lot of grit, foolishness, determination and hope in the eyes of many!

This photograph was taken at 10:30, a few minutes after I entered the auditorium. Amongst a lot of interesting characters was this guy, a masked wannabe! :D

Vidyabhushan gestures, with belief that he will be picked this time. He's a regular. We saw him in the Roadies 8 auditions and this time, he's attended the auditions at every venue this year with great hopes to become a Roadie this season.

Adding to the already Soaring temperatures! Amazing music, dance performances, and the tense atmosphere reverberating with a million thoughts, all whispering the same line 'Make me a Roadie'!!

Why's everyone on their toes? Guess!

10 girls were asked to come on stage to dance and 25-30 of them ran towards the stage. 10 of them were picked to act Munnis, Sheelas and Jalebi Bais!! (Click Hyperlinks to watch them groove to the music)

Guys were up for the challenge! They stormed the stage right after The Jalebi Sheelas left stage. Watch them perform Amplifier, Urvasi Urvasi and the super famous Nagin dance :D.. I call them Munnas and Shails!! :D

Udit, assessing the wannabes in the Group Discussion Room. A very cOoL head. He gave ample time to everyone to voice their opinion. Interesting fact about Group Discussions-- Contrary to the common notion that group discussions are filled with utter chaos and directionless arguments, all the GD sessions I was a part of, gave everyone a chance.

Nishant, one of the many Roadie wannabes in the GD room, tried to become the boss in the room. He was determined, like his expression shows. Spoke some sense and a lot of non-sense!! :D....He claims he was an Asst. Manager HR in an organization though he doesn't have good degrees. He quit that job to attend the Roadies auditions!! Is there a thin line between Insanity and trying to become a true Roadie? --- Views?

Does Gymming make people dumb? -- That was the topic and a few folks from both sides of support, some neutral, jumped off their chairs to get into an argument. Will this lead to a fight?

And it did!! A few more joined and fists met fists, eyes met eyes, words clashed until the moderator felt the situation going off limits! Bang! The sound startled the contestants, the moderator's palm on the table showed them the door and they had to leave for their misbehaviour. Awesome! That fortified the fact and assured me that ROADIES isn't ROWDIES!!

Beat this! The topic here was 'What's more desirable in today's leaders- Youth or Experience?" A lot of opinions poured, most stammered. One stood out. She said 'Rajiv gandhi, Sonia's son is an idol. She paused and then said Rajiv? Gandhi? Who Gandhi? Which Gandhi? -- Blondes do exist!! She sure was the reason to break the tension in the air. Everyone burst into laughter and it was worth the wait :D.. Roadies rocks \m/0_0\m/

"Where's the Hyderabadi flavour, Udit?"-- To which he replied "Make that 2. Where's the Hyderabadi Flavour, RoHiT?".. Speechless!!... Kidhar toh bhi gaye yaaron Hyderabad ke potte? Izzat ku pinde mein mila diye :(

Was I shaking my head that vigourously? :O

Knock knock, Suzie.. Snap out of the dream! Interacting with Suzie and Rishabh, moderators in another GD session. This time, the air in the room was filled with Hyderabadi Hindi. Kaiku, aisich, bolroon, sunroon, tumich kahe were the few commonly used words, I could make note of. Made me Happy!! \:D/

Aaaaand the trio arrives!! The crowd goes mad! about 1500 folks rush to the front rows and cramp into each other so they can get a glimpse of the bad men! Below: Rajiv, Rannvijay and Raghu striking a pose for the shutterbugs. Watch the video here.

The trio sent a very clear message across. They stressed on the point that they're here to select and not to reject. Infact, that is what they do at every venue, every year! The message was well received by the crowd. Just like the serpent sways to the tune of the charmer, the crowd went into a hypnotic state for a long time! Girls gaga over Rannvijay and his look in his new movie Mod.

Rajiv surprised the crowd by talking in Telugu. Not many know that Rajiv and Raghu are Telugites and are from Andhra Pradesh. Both of them graduated from the Osmania University in Hyderabad. Aisich rehna boltoon. Kiraak baat kiya telugu mein. Logaan paagal ho gaye samjho!

Questions asked and answered. The trio were very cool and took time off their schedule to answer every question put forth. Raghu and Rajiv aren't really the bad men, people think they are! Raghu spoke about the inception of the show and how it has progressed over these years and how they intend to tackle competition from other shows.

Ermm-- about competition, there wasn't much explanation. All he said was, there isn't another show as unique as this which captures the viewer's attention. Competition isn't a factor!... ---- True/False, People?

Oh and the discussion in the below picture wasn't actually an intense conversation at all, though it looks like one :P

How'd I miss mentioning Bani! She sat there, silent, sipping on her coffee from Barista. Not a word. Any other girl and those tattoos would have been grave mistakes. But they were perfect on Bani. She's a total attention grabber. My eyes seemed to have a brain of their own for about 15 minutes! She was such a doll.. Great luck, girl.

After spending 8 continuous hours amidst the Roadies atmosphere, I went home with tons of intercepted thoughts and hopes. There were those who wanted to become Roadies, just for the heck of it. There were those who wanted to become Roadies so they can become famous too. Some, so they can go abroad. This time, to America.

Some wanted to become Roadies because they believed they were destined to become Roadies. No wonder all relentless attitude of many contestants. Years of failure. They audition at every venue, consecutive years, only to be rejected each year.

Reinforcing their hopes and confidence, they come back, to audition the next season. I do not understand the driving factor. To each his own. But the journey is definitely worth the ride. You're screwed. You screw. You make friends. You make enemies.

May be it's worth the effort. To experience all of that was crazy. I can go on.. and on ... AND ON!! This post will only get longer... and longer... AND LONGER.... We are all Roadies within ourselves. We ride our lives. Give it a direction.

But for few, to become a Roadie is the ultimate experience. Cheers to that!!

MTV India Roadies 9; Hyderabad Auditions

So, the day's finally here.

10:30 and the place was already full, buzzing with wannabes... Gayatri from MTV India handed over my ID card and showed me the way to the auditorium.
It was packed already and apparently, that isn't even a tenth of what the actual crowd is supposed to be like.
Met Vidyabhushan who was a part of the auditions at Roadies 8.0.
He's been to all the 5 cities already and now in Hyd!
Bhavisha Choudhary, Pritam, Ahmed were a few to name who've been to multiple audition centres already.

Telugu songs. People from all parts of the country in even numbers. Doesn't quite seem like the 'typical' Hyderabadi crowd. The 'maki-kirkiri, aisich, hou re' words didn't strike my ears.

Well, I didn't have to wait long! Enter the GD room and a guy says 'aisich rehta'!! Now, that's a Hyderabadi alright!
A lot of chaos in one GD session and absolute silence in another one.

The Departure

Unmasked myself on that cloudy day.

Amidst the masses, my cerulean self feels rejected
May be I knew of the convulsions which followed

Or maybe I did not, but I have to be reticent nevertheless.

Standing still at the carfax amongst the buzzing crowd

I feel a cataclysm within me, only that it is not loud

I’m not dumb and I see all of it, but I have to be reticent nevertheless.

To lead an august life was never my intent

Neither was an abased one marked with a dent

May be it's meant to be that way, but I have to be reticent nevertheless.

A daedal voice from within tells me all is not over

I wait for my spaceship for I can depart and hover

I realize now, home or not, I have to be reticent nevertheless.

The air, the dead and the living seem hoary

Not bewildering at all, for this is my story

Here or there it’s all the same ‘cos I have to be reticent nevertheless.

For the revebrating voice tells me, ‘You're alone, the only one

You're not meant for any of these, you're meant for none'.

The only recluse is me and the shoulder’s my own.

There’s no nevertheless here for I now know I have to be reticent for times to come.

A Galaxy S2-ian wants to Tab!

I'm not going to start off with awesome titles and a great sentence to start with, cos there's not much time left for me to blog. I was late in noticing the "It's time to Tab" contest. But I have to share this nonetheless.

It's a month since I bought my Samsung Galaxy S2 and that was after great research, comparisons with other similar models. But the Galaxy S2 stood apart and I had to buy it. When I held the device, I wasn't sure if I had made the right choice. It felt very light and flimsy. I was in split-minds! I just spent a huge amount of money and I was holding a device which's about 4.5 inches long diagonally, yet weighs just about a 100 grams. It is packed with a 1GB RAM, a 1.2Ghz Dual core Processor, has a Gorilla glass display, has the best battery life compared to other phones in its class and it is this light?? I wasn't too sure.

I went back home, played around with the phone. Tried everything. And when I say 'everything', I mean it.

The Camera(I had to try it first cos I'm a photo-freak. I can spend eons just clicking a wall with nothing on it!), configured my emails, downloaded apps from the Android Market, games from the Game Hub, transferred movies onto my phone and played it(it was awesome, by the way!), configured and started chatting on gtalk(I'm a Google guy. I love gtalk, Picasa, GMail, Maps and everything Google), used latitude, tried the GPS, played around with the video maker and the photo editor, ran multiple apps at once and not once did the phone slow down or show signs of glitches. It was pure awesomeness.

I totally exploited the voice command feature and I loved it everytime it misspelled a friend's name or made blunders. It worked well most times, though. I play a LOT of games and I tried NOVA 2 and GT Racing. It felt like I was running these games off a dedicated video card. It was that smooth and awesome. When I'd switch to another app, the switching would be so seamless and within a fraction of a second.

It was right then that my faith in my decision in purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S2 got reinforced and I had no qualms whatsoever about it. You know what? My phone accidentally slipped off my lap when I got up and fell 3 feet down on solid floor. I picked it up and surprisingly, it still was awesome. Just a rough abrasion on the top right, I cleaned it a few times and it's as good as new. So much for all the flimsiness. It is tough, it is fast and it is Awesome!!

I've been itching to buy a tablet for a long time! I've waited to see the specifications of the Galaxy Tab. It's a dual core processor, a mammoth 25.65 cms screen, a 3MP rear and a 2MP front camera and runs on Honeycomb! Seriously? Though people might want to argue and tell me - "Dude, you already have a super-computer in your pocket, why do you want a tab now?", I still want it. It's because it's not a phone. It's a tablet. It is what the future is. In a world where Augmented Reality is everything, the tablets do justice best!

The very fact that all the apps on my phone, and more will be available on a10.1 inch screen lets every Crimson Rose butterfly on Earth run wild inside my stomach! :D

Memoirs of a Drunken Junkie Shuts :)

There we go! A post every day for 22 days, which started on the 1st of April has come to an end. I don't think there is a particular subject that I'm going to write about now... Did you guys know that the Mayans never wrong with their prophecies and their predictions? We approximately are in the time range of the natural wobble of the earth which is roughly about 26,000 years. It is also known as the Equinox cycle and natural disasters have happened every time the cycle has ended and a new one has begun. Coincide these 2 with the recent earthquakes, cloud bursts, hurricanes, tsunamis, forest fires, floods and the other natural calamities, 2012 seems like it will be the time when Mother Earth hits the "REFRESH" button. She needs a break and we've broken her too much.

Okay! I'm not going to talk about the devastation et al. But let us not not ignore the possibility of Earth's cataclysm. A lot of people I've known have shied away from a lot of things they love doing or want to do, just because they feel others would laugh at them and it'd get embarrassing. Seriously? If you knew the world was to end tomorrow, would you behave the same way? Wouldn't you do everything you wanted to do? All those small dreams, the big ones, the impossible ones. You'd push yourself so hard that the impossible would seem like nothing at all. If you can do something like that when the situation arises, why can't you "ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS" in life?

There's no fun in doing the bigger things in life if you don't enjoy the smaller ones. Whenever you get a chance, you must pounce on the opportunity to make sure you don't sigh later.

Make people laugh, even if you are called a clown. There's nothing called a PJ, if it manages to get people laughing or even smile. Even PJs are good. I like them. In fact, my arsenal's filled with nonsense!!

Stand by your values and your thought streams, no matter what! Many times, people close to you, some very dear to you will present you with an option of choosing something or someone over your values and goals. It is imperative that you choose what you are. Once you let go of your values, thoughts and goals, you no longer are the person you were! That only invites double the problems.

DENIAL is not wrong. It is, if you deny yourself of something you treasure for something else. Often times, I have been asked to choose people over my outlook in life. I've been presented with situations where I've been literally forced to be someone I am not so they can be happy. That is temporary. Happiness is when you are happy. Happiness is when the other person realises and accepts the person in you. Friends, family, relatives, strangers-- no two people are the same! There exist similar people but there's a HUGE difference between being same and similar. You can never satisfy anyone forever! If you have been assured someone or if you have been assured about it, you have either lied or have been lied to. Think about it.

I have been a very volatile person all my life. Relationships haven't lasted long and all thanks to what I am. And I don't hate the fact that all of that has happened because of what I am. I am what I am and I know there are folks who want to be like me. But just like ‘similar and same’ are different, ‘to be like and to be same’ are different! Someone can be like me but can't be me. Ditto with me. I want to be like so many people.. Those who have a great social life. Those who have great friends, awesome jobs and a fancy lifestyle. But I don't want to, too! It's quite a cliché.

Alright! On that note, I'll end the last post on my blog. Hope everyone has a great life ahead! One with everlasting happiness, luck, love and good health! Have fun and save Earth!

Today's Earth day and my birthday! \m/.. I know I'm the ulimate saviour and I have to come to people's rescue when the day arrives ..

This happened a few weeks ago and I was coming back after my classes and I saw a Sardar riding a motorcycle with his kid sitting on the tank and his wife as his pillion. She was holding a LARGE suitcase and she had this innocent look on her face. All of us had to stop at the traffic lights and I switched my bike off- I had 90 seconds before our side would get the "Green" signal.

The Sardar for some reason thought I was checking out his wife and he kept looking back at me. And she was looking at me from the corner of her eyes, to check if I was checking her out!

Loll... It was then that I actually started checking their family :P.. Something happened and a bike ahead of me went ahead and there I was, right next to the Sardar's vehicle. His kid was knocking the petrol tank and he was humming a tone I had no clue about. The Sardar was looking at me rather angrily and I didn't know how to react to it.

I actually wanted to see if his wife also was giving an angry stare so I looked at her and she was still looking at me with her head bent down. She looked so much like the lead in Love Aaj Kal.

The chota Sardar then looked at me and he raised his eyebrows and he looked exactly like the sardar kid in Kuch Kuch Hota hain.

On the other hand, papa Sardar was getting angrier and he started to look like Bobby Deol in Bhagat Singh. I was starting to get worried if I'd get beaten to pulp by this hefty Sardar and just then our turn had come-- Aaah the Green light! I raced past him. Sardar and family far behind now :P.. Phew :D

I reached Lifestyle flyover at Begumpet and a guy bumped into another bike. It clearly was his fault. He then shouted in pain and then the guy whose bike he bumped into went into a console mode, from his angry mode. All done, both of them started their bikes and went off. I noticed this guy(the one who was at fault), chuckle as soon as the other guy disappeared. Nothing had happened to him. That scene looked so damn filmy. He actually was a good actor.

No matter how much we improve our lifestyles, no matter how much we act different from the crowd and no matter what we become as a result of life’s doings on us, we will always remain the filmy, Bollywood Indian. Most dialogues used to impress those of the opposite sex are pick offs from Bollywood movies. Not just cupid, fights, arguments, sorrow or happiness--- everything’s so filmy yet so real!

It’s just that we’re all so Indian!! :)

Wow! I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for 20 straight days and I just cannot express how quickly these days have passed. The day I wrote the first post “The day draws near!” seems like it was last week and uh! This is one thing which will be perennial for times to come- “Hey! Time’s actually flying at the speed of light!” ...

Uhmmm... I expected mixed reactions in me about the blog’s closure at this juncture but surprisingly, I am not! A few hours ago I was thinking to myself about my blog and I was like “yeah! So 2 more days!” and all that was without ANY reaction at all! I guess that sends a very clear message to Mr. Emotions.. Go try infesting someone else! :D

Now that the countdown towards my blog’s closure has begun with 3, 2 and 1. Today’s day 3 and I want to waste NO time in letting the blog-o-sphere know about the blogs I’ve liked, taken inspiration from and those with great quality of words, theme and efforts!

Blah blah about the Blog/blogger— He writes extensively about the Indian armed forces, the IAF in particular. I was impressed when I read about the 26 year project the IAF undertook. AK wrote all about it with such intricate detail, that I instantly hit the follow button and I kept myself updated with all of his blog posts. They are all rich in quality, content and information an Indian should know. Love his blog. I probably am partial to him, over a couple of other blogs I regularly follow, like Devilzangel's, Raghu’s and Rinaya’s. The effort he puts into his blogs is unmatched. It is a must visit blog for every Indian. More so if you are an IAF fanatic! Click his blog to follow and read his dynamic blog.

Blah blah about the Blog/blogger—She writes her own blogs, unlike me. She started off writing about her air travel experience and I honestly didn’t think it was formatted well, described the way it could have been and a couple of other things. And then, she put on Devilzangel’s cloak and she began weaving extraordinary poems. No hypes! Go checkout some of her old poems and you’ll need a defibrillator to get yourself back to senses. I was like- “Hey, okay! I’ve woven some good poems too. No big deal!”. And almost as if she heard me, she began writing fiction! And that’s the point she equipped her blog with a V6 engine and zoomed past me waving a bye. My blog was driving an Indian Maruti 800 and I “THINK” I saw her wave. Or did I? I am not sure! It was wayyyy too fast!

No complicated words. An average reader won’t have to google a word and then get back to her blog. Once you start reading it, you invariably get to the end of it in a few minutes with a wow, nice or a cool comment come outta ya mouth! I haven’t commented much on her blog but I definitely check her blog for updates every week!

Blah blah about the Blog/blogger— I am not quite sure how I came across Rinaya’s blog but sometime in 2010, I came across her blog, read something about her 'Secret Crush' and I loved the way she put her emotions into describing how and what she felt for her secret crush who isn’t a secret anymore :P. I bookmarked her blog and I kept going back to it for updates. I am not really a commenting kind of a reader and so I probably haven’t commented all that much but yeah I’ve read most of her posts and they’re really good. Blah blah about the Blog/blogger— He’s the only person on this list I’ve known personally. So there’s a LOTTTT of things I can tell about him. But knowing a person really well, also cuts down the description on a public forum. Weird, but true! From his blogs, you already know he freaking writes in three different blogs. I must tell you that he does NOT leave his blogs deserted. I can absolutely not fathom how he manages to write at least one post a week in each of his blogs. He started off as an Okayish poet, transformed into a serious emotional good poet and now, he writes great poems and fiction! He’s actually writing a story (fiction) on “Journey Begins” and he already has lots of people checking into his blog for an update each day!! His works are very expressive, simple and enthralling. A must visit blog too!

So, that’s about it. You can say I came up with this ‘cos I had nothing else in mind to write about! What better way to thank you guys for all those good reads! Keep churning those amazing pieces of art (I call them art). I’ll be watching over you guys. **points his index and middle finger to his eyes and then at you**..

During a conversation with a friend on her birthday, she asked me to write a blog post as a b’day gift and I said I’d post the entire conversation to which she said “chalega” :P... So here’s the blog post as promised... I’ve delayed it a LOT. The conversation happened on the 28^th of December 2010!! And that she apparently shares her b’day with 2 other friends of mine. Still Night!

It was someday last year and I was walking through thick vegetation on the city outskirts. Below is an account of what I witnessed.

Was a still and silent night indeed!

That day was a still night.

I could actually hear their plight.

They roamed about in their robes all white,

While I struggled to move, with all my might.

They moved so fast, they were oh so bright!

I stood still in awe, watching that unbelievable sight!

Right then, my inner self speaks to me about the sight and he sighs.

Can't always be ghosts on a still night, they’re the fire flies! :D

Hyderabadi Hindi boleto aisich rehna!!

Hou miyaan bilkul sahi sune tum.. Ab dekho, aaj kal ke potte pottiyaan kyaa hain ki English mein full phaaast baataan karre aur apne Hyderabadi Hindi ku lite le lere. Hindi kaun baat karta chichaa? Tumaare baava? Chalo baava pe nai jaatoon lekin kyaa karein patthe yeh generation mein ek se ek naalayak dimaag karaab logaan nikalre.

The Charminar in all its glory. The roads are never empty. But at 6am that day, it was!

Mai Kya bolroon, samajhre ki nai? Parson kyaaki Deccan Chargers ka naya advertisement dekha mai.. Abbaaa!! Kyaa chindiyaaan ad nikaala yaaron. Hyderabad ko full shining shining kar diye bolo. Hyderabad ka ad boleto aisich rehna boltoon!

Khair yeh sab hote rehta, lekin apne Deccan Chargeraan kya toh bhi karre Hyderabad mein matchaan hote time pe. Pinde me milaa dere matchaan. Ghar ku aake khele waqat kyaa hota ki. Baingan apne playeraan jamaalgutta khaa le ke aate kya? Siraf ek match jeet te yaaron ghar pe? Apne ghar pe? Mai phulll disapaaint ho gaya yaaron. Kya karinge? Phir bhi Deccan Chargers ka T-Shirt daal le ke “Go chargers, Go Chargers, Go, Go Go Go....” bol ke cheering karrooon. Aur do teen baar yahaan Hyderabad mein hare samjho, mai lite le letooon yahaan ke matchaan.

Yeh kirkit bhi kyaa kit kit hain chicha... dum karne ko ich khelte. Baingan office jaane waale ku ghar pe bitaatha, school jaane waale bachhe ku pet darad yaad dilaatha, college ke potte toh chodo... resortaan, pub, bar bolke kahaan kahaan ki jaate, unke baava ke paise udaa ke aathe. Apan bhi karte bolo, lekin hadh hona na yaaron..

Yeh blaag post ko jo bhi padhra, usku seedha seedha, final waaarning deke bolroon. Patthe, Hyderabadi hindi ku lite nakko lio... Angrez, Hyderabad Nawabs wagera wagera dekhe waqat kyaaki pet pakad leku haste, baat karne ko nahi hota re chindi chor? Baat karna nahi aata boleto, seekho. Mereku contact karo. Mera number honga na? An ode to one of the best fusion languages ever! Urdu and Hindi= Hyderabadi Hindi. Fun to talk, fun to listen and a new word comes up ever new week!

My Hyderabadi Hindi Pocket Dictionary:

Potta/Potte--> Usually referred to a teenage boy. Sometimes any boy.

Potti/Pottiyaan-- >Teenage girl. Ditto as above.

Chichaa--> Uncle or old man. But it's frequently used between friends. They refer each other as chicha, patthe, sher, etc....

Patthe-- > Boy, dude

Chindiyaan--> Awesome

Baingan--> Brinjal

A Musical Masterpiece!

The best song ever! Listen to the music and tell me it is not. You might! But to each his own :D... This song's the best for all the right reasons.

Reasons quoted below the song. Listen to it before you read the reasons :D

1) Did you hear the song? If yes, answer this question. I don't want a no here :D

--->"What did you hear between 3:37 and 3:45?"

2) There are no vocals for the first 2 minutes and 18 seconds of the song. Just plain ethereal instrumental music.

3) It's not often that You feel the hair on the back of your neck sway to the music and say "dude, I've swayed enough for an entire year. Can I get a break now?". Yet they spring up to action every single time the song plays. Happens to me! \:D/.

4) The lyrics are superawesexy. Yes! Disagree and I'll find you and punch you in the nose.

5) The last 1 minute and 50 seconds of the song is filled with instrumental music which is pure awesomeness! I feel myself drown into a nether-realm. I don't see the seconds hand of the clock move when this part of the song plays. It almost feels like time pauses while the last 2 minutes play.

This song clearly overshadows any other song on my personal top 10 ever. There's never a day that goes without me listening to it. I listen to this one, even on the crappiest of days. Days which hold no promises and days when I know there'll be no one to talk to/interact with. The gloomiest of days and the happiest of days. Days don't matter. This song JUST PLAYS! And it owns every other song.

No he didn't. He sang "She's got the Mercedes Bends!!".

So much for innovation and improvements other songs try bringing into themselves. This song totally makes them look like newbies. Makes the song even more awesome!

Yeah right. I know you agree to that and so do I. Too bad there isn’t an explanation or a reason as to why I am one! If there is anyone out there who claims to have an explanation to that, do not believe their shit. I’d rather suggest you land a punch right in the middle of their face, the focal point- the nose. Or give them knee dig, you know where! Aaaand if you’re a Mortal Kombat fan, you can yell out “brutality-muhahahahahaha” soon after the above said have been done ;) :D...

Uh but seriously- there has to be some kind of an explanation or a rationale to me being weird, other than the already known fact that I am an alien. I’ve been sending distress calls to my folks for the last 1.5 million years. I’ve seen the likes of Archimedes, Aryabhatta, Napoleon, Da Vinci and blah-blahs live and die. What the hell? Microsoft Word does not recognise Aryabhatta? It shows his name as a spell check and freaking accepts Archimedes, Napoleon, Julia, Nancy and many other insignificant names. INJUSTICE! K... Not just them. I’ve seen things which may seem a little too trippy to you humans. All those extinct flora and fauna. Oh those days were good! It was just me and my pet sabre-toothed who had the comforts of living in an Air-conditioned room in my spaceship. Oh and electricity!! \m/.. I promised Franklin I would never let the world know that he used our technology and claimed it was he who invented electricity and what not! And I will never disclose it to you either :D.

Oh yes! Don't think twice. I am :D

So.. coming back to what I started off with, last night at around 2 am, I was doing a little practice on Ubuntu and I was getting bored of it. I thought I’d lie down for 5 minutes and then get back to some practice, video surfing and online guitar tutorials. My right hand did a whadaaap hi5 with my left and I put my earphones on, listening to “When you Say Nothing at all”(my version! Yeah:D). I opened my eyes and I went straight to my Gmail to see if I’ve any new mails or notifications. And none as usual(no one likes me :-s). I then looked at the clock on the lappy and it was 3 freaking AM!! I am not sure what it was- probably my recording was too sweet or a little to unbearable, I actually slept for an entire hour. No dreams, no interruptions, nothing at all. Just plain, pure, purest, purestest sleep! I’m pretty sure I used the word “fuck” and a little too loudly. I don’t use that word at home and I was a little worried if someone heard me saying that. With me in my room and my doors shut, it wouldn’t quite sound ermm nice! :P

Also, I’m super weird cos I managed to keep you guys engrossed or at least reading this 500 word post which clearly is a product of me not having anything to write about :D.. Muhahahahaha.. \m/.. 500 words of pure non-sense, though it is true that I am a weirdo :D and what’s weirder is the fact that you’ve become a little weird too since you’re STILL reading this stuff :P...

Here’s a word of advice--- You have to understand the fact that “Some days you’re a pigeon and other days you’re a statue!”... Today, I’m the pigeon and you’re all the statues. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to dye your heads in white :-)... I’ll be a good host someday too :P..

It’s Tamil New Year’s Day today and I had to celebrate it since I’m a Tamilian too. If knowing that I’m a Tamilian has come as a shock to you, you’re not alone :D!! Most people mistake me for a North Indian, some mistake me as an Anglo-Indian(from when has RoHiT become an Anglo-Indian name?) and the list practically goes on and on. I’ve been mistaken for anything but a Tamilian through most part of my epic journey!

Uhmmmm may be I’ve this non-tamilian look+accent+behaviour because my mother’s a Tamilian from Kerala, born and brought up in Hyderabad. My father’s a Tamilian born in Kerala, brought up in Punjab, Delhi and almost everywhere throughout India, finally settling in Hyderabad, ‘cos grandpa served the Indian Air-Force and my paternal side had their back-packs ready all the time :D. And me— A pure Hyderabadi at heart and the tongue. I totally can speak Hindi, Telugu and English better than my mother tongue and strange but true- No bad feelings about it from moi :P... Some of my friends call me a 500 rupee note. That's cos I can converse in quite some languages and a 500 rupee note has all the Indian languages on its sides. :P... Great !! I at least know how much I can sell myself for :P..

Yeah so today’s Tamil New year’s day. It’s called “VISHU”! So you probably want to say Wish u a happy Vishu! It sounds so funny and I so love it. It’s the new year and I am not going to make any resolutions, but I’m going to make sure I do a few things before the the next Tamil New year shows up.

I am going to:-

a) Learn the guitar. Yes yes!

b) Work out to see a 6 pack on my abdomen at least for a few days! I’ve been intrigued what it is about and how it feels. Will will! :D

c) Cut myself free from all the social networking ties for a couple of months again!

d) Hit speeds in excess of 150kmph on Indian roads on a 2-wheeler. And no accidents this year—hopefully! :P

e) Surpass my typing speed of 96wpm.

f) Attend more treks, expeditions and adventure outings. This time, with professionals!

g) Buy a DSLR!

Omg.. I’ve committed myself to a lot of things. None more :D.. Damn Jim Carrey. I watched ‘Yes Man’ yesterday and there’s this super awesome rush of positivity and urge to explore and learn. Woaah and yes, I did not use the word NO today. I said yes to everything! Good thing is, I wasn’t taken advantage of my situation\:D/...

Wow! I can't believe the count-down is now into the single digits. 8 days before I bid adieu to my bloggy bloggy :D

It keeps getting better. No matter what!!

That's right. No matter how much we abuse and exploit it, Nature keeps getting better, however steep the climb gets for it, to keep it and us happy and satisfied. Most times, it bargains its loses its part of the deal in keeping us(humans) happy and satisfied.

I thought I'd share a few photographs I've clicked in the recent past. So here they are :D

The Blue print for the Helicopter! Nature indeed is the base for every invention. Makes me challenge if inventions are really inventions or are they simply discoveries? Man discovered nature’s idea? Eh?

A 7 foot ant-hill in the jungle with the sunset on the backdrop:)

Who'd believe that anthills like these are engineering marvels, paved with roads, levels of occupancy and chambers, all built by a colony of ants. This 7 foot anthill totally dominated the 6 foot me! The serenity in the jungle sets just as fast as the sun does on the horizon, through the trees. A spectacular feeling to be there!

Those who have known me for a while would know I love taking pictures of sunrise and sunsets. To me, it's almost like nature's inviting me to capture it when it is at its brilliant self. The orange in the skies, the yellowish, yet red ball of fire speeds down the horizon at an amazing pace. The trees help me save the sun from a guilty conscience of taking all the credits to itself :D.

Or was it checking out my rear? I would never know it for sure :( *sigh!*... This tough guy refused to budge. I placed my finger right next to it- it touched my finger and moved back. I tried touching it but he/she was rock steady! I managed to find a twig and it clumsily climbed on to it and was so damn happy! I think I also saw him/her wink ;)!! Oh those huge eyes. Ones to die for :D

Yaayyyy. Finally home \m/

It kept its eyes fixed on me while I took him(lets just call it a him! :P) to the money plant, outside. I don't quite know what it was- may be the greenery or the fresh air. He did a jhinga-lala-hoo(a tribal dance.. ask me!) with both his front legs up! He quickly latched on to the leaf and he seemed like he was never this happy! Aaah so much for "Nature's perfect killing machine"!! I saved him from a probable fart-bomb! :D. So, does that make me nature's perfect killing machine's saviour? :O.. Woaah \m/.. Wee weeeel weee weeeel raaak u!! \m/

Nature truly doesn't care if you're black or white. All it needs some blah blah talk and something to bite!(oooh, a rhyme!:P). Soon, after this pic, the two of of them cuddled up. I so wish my camera battery hadn't died right then :|.

We should do anything we can do, if we want to keep seeing such wonderful sights. Abuse nature and it will sooner or later make you pay for it. You don't have to be selfish with nature. It gives you everything you want! It gives us everything in excess. Yet, we exploit it. :(.. Humans truly are the most thankless and selfish breed on this planet.

There's just one way to save nature. Relish, protect and know it more, before it is no more!

Hell yeah, this business is without ANY risk, since this email actually landed in my SPAM box and a friend of mine actually did respond to an email sent by some other “Capt.blah blah blah” serving in the same division of the UN as you are. He did get a call and the guy on the other line was like “allo allo, send monie quick. Wee need $200 first and then wee send all dha monie. Fast fast. More quesans? Email us. Bye friend bye”.. Well, they definitely did speak a lot more.. but this a part of their conversation, I managed to dig out, from my friend! So, Capt. Curry, STFU and change clothes into a Nigerian who just sold all the diamonds he found in his farm, and wants to transfer the “MONIE” to someone so no one doubts him!”)

Kids, grownups and anyone who has an email address, don’t fool yourself into these emails. They sure do have the potential to get you into replying to these emails, soon followed by a couple of calls which definitely sound genuine and attractive. That’s just the beginning of the road to El Lootado! You’ll be looted in no time and you won’t even realise that.

The best thing you can do is, hit the “Mark as Spam” or “Move to Spam” button and make fun of such emails, in your blog or when you run out of funny things to talk with friends, or... hey, find your reasons!! :D.. Just be self-sufficient okay! :P. Don't jeopardise yourself or your friends by following such mails or asking people to follow them. If you ever come across an email which looks VERY genuine and promises you something nice, in return for nothing, it's a spam 99% of the times! :D.. If you still think it's genuine, let someone know about the mail, there are lots of people who can differentiate genuine stuff over spam. I can too! Just forward that email to me, if you think it's really genuine and I will let you know if it is! Surf Safe!! :D

C'est la vie!!

There are days when we have a lot of fun and there are days we are bombarded with nothing but pressure, sorrow and sometimes nothing! C’est la vie!

A few hours ago, I was horizontal on the floor, staring at the ceiling, wondering what should be up as today’s blog post. Yesterday, it was sheer fun. It didn’t take me much time to get done with a blog post and a good one, actually!!

It was not a writer’s block that I faced today, but a writer’s flood. There were ten thousand thoughts hovering inside my head and my butterfly net didn’t quite catch one of those ten thousand thoughts *sigh* :-(.... Well again, c’est la vie! :)

Just then, I took out my invaluable external hard disk from its secret location and I was picture browsing through ‘every’ album on it. I saw a photograph of me and my friends laughing at I-don’t-remember-what.

:(:(:(... Chocolate Lychee...:(:(:(

It was soon followed by a Chocolate-Lychee Ice-cream pic :-s.. Lychees are my ultimate weakness. I can kill for basket full of Lychees(no kidding!). There were days when I could order unlimited laughs and lychees and now, I am deprived of both. Well, the deprivation will continue for a month more at least! C’est la vie!

I then came across a pic of my sweetheart, parked on the banks of the Pakhala reservoir.

Also the pic of me charging a kamehameha wave(an energy ball) by cupping my palms and focusing my chi into it.

The biker in me got a little emotional. That bike ride was my first long ride, the best ever. We covered over 500 kms in 2 days with very little sleep, saw four major tourist locations and it was that time of the year when the summer was at its peak! A lot of memories with that trip. And there I was browsing for over an hour, revisited a thousand memories with friends, family and those I treasured when alone. At the end of it, all I told myself- c'est la vie! :)

Life is full of surprises. Some we accept with wide spread arms and some we decline with frustration and discontent on our faces and behaviour. It isn’t weird if someone revolts against life’s tricks but it is essential to understand- Such is Life! :-j

After much filtering, I decided to post just the top 25 facts that most people don’t know about me :D. Chance upon these facts, for they’ll only be available on the blog-o-sphere for the next 12 days :D.

When I initially started my blog, I sort of framed a few guidelines and one of them was “ I should never reveal too much personal information on this public forum”. But What the Hell!! I’ve been revealing a bit of me in every post, only wasn’t too evident.

So here it goes..

1. My lungs never run out of air when I whistle. I can go on and on for an entire season! :D

2. Many people think I’m a really fast runner, may be cos I am an adventure freak and play a lot of outdoor games, and actually play them well. But the fact is I totally suck at running. I keep having these nightmares about me tripping myself and chipping a couple of teeth while running a race.

Psst—A little secret. If you ever find me running, shift focus from my stunning face to my legs. I land my legs a little too away from each other so I won’t trip, so much that it almost looks like I’m crossing a street filled with puddles of rainwater. Hop to your left, now the right, left again! :P

3. I can spend an entire month locked up in a room, with absolutely no contact with the outside world, as long as I have a PC/laptop with a couple of nice strategy/action games and a broadband connection :D

4. I HATE talking on the phone. I hate talking, in general. I run out of words pretty fast and most times I’m like “haha, yeah, hmmm, right, really?, no way!, ok, ya, wow-great-ttyl-bye!”.

5. I can’t keep my hands off puppies and dogs even if they’re like really grrrrrrrr kinds. I just have to touch and play with them- a dog bite’s not a bad bargain :D. It’s pretty much a similar case with most animals. Dogs have a special place though :-)

6. I can jump off the balcony of the first floor or 20 feet, whichever is smaller- with no second thoughts about getting hurt :P. I’ve done it over a couple of times too.

7. My stomach turns into a black-hole and knows no limits when I know I am paying the bill. Strange but true! :D

8. I hate celebrating my birthday, though I smile at surprise cakes and calls( I fake them!). I love celebrating my day, every other day!

9. I am a horrible dancer. When the BLUE PRINT was being prepared before I was put into existence, I was equipped with two left legs pointing backwards. Anyone who watches me dance, becomes an instant fan of my comedy show! Fact hain jee .. fact hain!

10. I can listen to “Dil ko tumse pyaar hua”, “Hotel California” and “Sach Keh Raha hain Deewana” on loop for an entire year and I will still love them!

11. I talk a lot when I go out with people I’ve known for a while. They think I’m funny and practical but I wish I really was! Does this fact contradict fact# 4?? No it doesn’t :-).

12. I don’t lie. I play a lot of pranks but the bluffing part normally is taken care by someone else or I reveal it super soon if I bluff. I know! Before you call me a good boy, replace ‘boy’ with ‘alien’ :-)!!

13. I am not completing my bachelors for the sheer reason that I hate mathematics and I hate the system which only offers good jobs to bachelors. I beat that system once and I will again. The bachelors degree is just a piece of paper. If I ever start an organization of my own, I’d even hire guys who haven’t completed their schooling, as long as they have the passion to work and the willingness to learn. I hate companies which adhere to their guidelines and policies of hiring only bachelors.

14. I don’t give alms to beggars who have perfectly functioning legs, hands and eyes. If I feel they can work, I’d never give it.

15. I have a soft-spot for the old in old-age homes and orphans, both who are victims of life’s dirty games.

16. I have protruding teeth on my upper jaw. I used to hate myself as a kid for that. Now, it’s a part of my signature smile and I love the fact that I can bite into anything. As long as it’s healthy and glittering! I’m starting to sound like an elderly person huh? You and me aren’t getting any younger! :D

17. I’m the local secret bank and agony uncle to everyone that knows me well. For some strangely odd good reason, I won’t disclose others’ secrets/problems.

18. I was once given the title “mobile dictionary” by C.S.Ramya when at school. I was quite a dictionary back then. I’m not satisfied with my English now.

19. I share my problems and secrets with nature whenever I go on trips. Not many would have noticed me talking to myself when on adventure trips!

20. I don’t forgive. I do make an attempt at forgetting, not before trying to mend the situation a couple of times. Post that, it’s move on!

21. I can't buy gifts. I can never choose one. I'd rather take that person and let him/her choose what he/she wants. For some, choosing gifts comes naturally. It doesn't to me :P

22. I can abuse really well. Perfect in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Punjabi. I can also manage a few in French and Portuguese. Like the popular line goes “learn abusing before you learn the local language. You’ll know if someone’s angry at ya !!” :D

23. I’m more susceptible to paranormal activity. I have experienced the supernatural a couple of times, which is a hugeeeeeeee number :P.

24. I have done a couple of dirty things in my life. The one that tops the list is me sneaking up on someone’s email and reading that person’s conversations. I only did it once. One I’ll regret forever. Never give me your passwords! :D

25. I can’t keep friends. I’m too perfect to have any for a long time. This, also is a fact! And I’m tired of making anymore friends. I can count the number of people who have remained friends for over 5 years, with half the fingers of one hand!

Okay! I’m tired now. That was a LOT of intricate blah blah...Dinner time. Bye.

Nature- Ever so enthralling! The Drunk aren't! :|

This post is the continuation of “Nature- Ever so enthralling!” posted on Apr 7^th 2011.

The Descent!

~~400 steps down and about a few hundred metres of walking, we saw the waterfall. It was wayyy different than what I’d seen of it in the summer of ’09.. Barricaded, it lost its charm. The round pool beneath the waterfall which almost looks geometrical, seemed separated off the falls. Most of us slipped under that mossy surface near the waterfall, hurt our arses, laughed our arses out too :P and had loads of fun.

After all the fun we had under the waterfall, 5 from the 10 of us set out to the Sri Sailam temple, and me with 4 others set out to explore the forest, following the flow of water. We came across tiny rivulets meeting the river, loads of pug marks of bears, deer and those of a few canines. It was somewhere in the middle of the trek that I decided to drink some water off the river and it was the purest, sweetest water I’ve ever tasted (no exaggeration).

About an hour and half into the trek, we came across another waterfall, this one- much smaller and more enthralling. We had some fun there, loads of pictures taken. After spending a while there, we decided to head back. When we reached the main waterfall, we felt helpless looking at the 400 step ascend that we had to endure. It took us over half an hour to get to the top and we were ‘spent’—Totally :-s...

We asked the other half o f the group to meet us at Baba dhaba. Yeah funny name but he serves great food and with love and respect. Around lunch time we reached Baba Dhaba and we ordered some snacks. I can’t seem to recollect the name but he actually made Rotis and rolled omelettes into them. It was super yummy and re-charged us. The wait for the others seemed like a light year's wait specially after waiting for over an hour at the dhaba. The sweet smell of something yummy cooking in there made our wait even more miserable. Anyways, the group finally came, we finished our lunch, took an hour’s rest at the dhaba and started off for Hyderbad.

We took our bikes out and my cousin realised the rear tyre of his brand new bike was flat. I pushed his bike to the nearest mechanic. But Mr. Mechanic was taking his afternoon nap and clearly denied helping us. Awesome! So we just filled air in that rear tyre, though it was punctured. He rode his bike a little distance and found another mechanic. Somu offered me a ride till the mechanic and so we were, talking about something, when a cat ran across the road, missing our tyres by a few feet. Probably wasn’t even a minute since the cat ran across, a monkey streaked across the road, this time barely missing it’s suicidal attempt. A minute later, a cow came running and stopped right in front of the bike. It was all too weird for me to handle. I exclaimed rather loudly—What next? A Man!!?

We reached the mechanic; “Punchar”—was his verdict and puncture it was! There was an eerie looking hole, dangerously close to two other puncture holes on the tyre tube. Anyways, he fixed it real quick and gave us a “good to go” sign!!

It also was the day India was playing the league match versus West Indies in the Cricket World Cup. We were all excited to get home quickly and watch the rest of the match and we planned fewer breaks en route home. Everything was just about perfect- the weather, us, the mood, the game we’d get to see after we’d get home. Everything! We stopped about 110 kms from Hyderabad to have some tea. We watched the match for about 15 minutes and decided we had enough halt time. I was the pillion after the halt and my prophecy came true! A man indeed did come in our path(he was drunk)! The rest is history. The three of us were put in an ambulance and were driven to a government hospital at Hyderabad. Quite some injuries, broken bones and hair line fractures happened to us thanks to the accident. It was ermm...--bad. That’s about it. Nothing more about the accident will be discussed :D. Not many would approve it’s discussion here and I wouldn’t either!

The trip, in one word was “Fantawesome!”. It really was! The next bike trip probably is in June. And this time, I’ll be the one riding MY bike, the entire distance!

Oh and again—if it wasn't for our helmets, me and my cousin would have been in some real bad state or maybe in a different state of existence too!

Please put on your helmet every time you get out on your vehicles. You might be a safe rider but the person crossing the road or others on their vehicles may not really be sensible or in their senses!! The Helmet is NOT an accessory :-)

Our voices didn't go unheard!!

I can’t think of anything else but this to be up on my blog today! The continuation to "Nature- Ever so enthralling!", which I posted yesterday will be up tomorrow. This news is too big to be overlooked. I'm super happy. I wasn't this happy even on the 2nd of April when India won the Cricket World Cup! I think it's weird.. But no!! It isn't!! Yaaaayyyy I'm so happy I think it is weird but it still isn't! :D

The Indian Government agreed to the Nation’s voices by okaying the “Lokpal bill”- a raging fire initiated by Shri. Anna Hazare.

The current generation and the generations to follow will all read and put this bill into practice. All the credits have to go to Anna Hazare ji since it wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. We were all happy within the comforts of our home and work, so much that we would have NEVER broken our silence.

Today, 4 days after Shri. Anna Hazare started his fast unto death for the Jan Lokpal bill which captured the attention of every responsible citizen of our country, the government has agreed to the demands. The Jan Lokpal will constitute of both government and independent individuals in equal halves. It isn’t a bad deal, considering the fact that the bill was constantly put off for the last 43 years.

Now that the Government has agreed to our voices, Anna will end his fast at 10am tomorrow (9^th April 2011) and will give us more insight on the Jan Lokpal and its members. A five member panel has already been chosen, with a chairman but it would only seem right and confirmed when Anna reads it out to us. What a sigh of relief!!! :D

To corrupt individuals like Raja, Kalmadi and a few thousands of thousand othersà Watch out!! There’ll be investigating teams behind your arses in a few months! I already am dreaming of a bribe free nation, with corruption at its minimum and yesss— Quality roads and sewerage systems as a result of a corruption free, focused political unit. All of it seems like a dream :P... Somebody snap me out of this dream :D

With all said and done, it would only be just that the people of the nation propose something to the government of India, like I will—Just like Gandhi ji’s the father of the nation, Anna Hazare should be given the title “Anna of the nation”. I think it will totally justify his role. Kudos the man of steel.. He’s our Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Green Lantern, Hulk and every super-hero put in one.

Can’t wait to flip through tomorrow’s newspaper. My family will be shocked. It’s eons since I’ve actually read a newspaper. I usually update myself with all the news from the internet. *whistles and dances*!! I'll be joining the "Walk for Anna Hazare and against Corruption" tomorrow at KBR park, Hyderabad at 6am with a little crowd of my own which will join a much bigger crowd. It'll be a celebration of sorts! I'm so looking forward to it :-)

Congratulations to us! Our voices have been heard. If not Anna, it has to be you or me, the next time. We can absolutely NOT wait for someone to take the first initiative. If there always has to be someone first, why can’t it be YOU or ME? For now, let’s chuck that thought out.. We’ve to celebrate.. Cheers to that! :-)

Nature- Ever so enthralling!

With less than 3 weeks left before this blog’s forced into a cryogenic state, locked away from everyone but me, a thought streaked across my mind a few days ago. Why not post something every day, for the next 3 weeks, even if it’s just some useless rambling? And I kinda approved that thought and here it is!! This is my 7th post in a row and a post every day for the next 15 days—wow! \m/ 0-0\m/...

A recap of Feb 20th 2010 on Mar 20th 2011 happened.. Was quite a story.. Not an adventure really but the Super-moon day and the day after that were really cOoL!!

The bonfire which consumed a LOTTT of firewood, dung, hay and what not :|

Was the first time I(we) heard wild animals in the wild self. As usual, we were in the middle of the forest on the 19th Mar 2011(The day of the Super-moon a.k.a the day I broke free :P), the 10 of us(yeah, that by far was the highest attendance on a bike trip!—Wooohoo to that!!) found some open space in the middle of the forest and decided to camp there. With what seemed like enough firewood and hay to keep us warm and safe, we made a bonfire (before you think we could have instigated a forest fire, I should remind you that we picked an open spot :D—In Your Face!! Wham :P). The firewood and hay lasted 2 hours and we were scrambling on the forest-floor which was kinda well illuminated thanks to the Supermoon (oooooouuuuu—the werewolf in me just snapped for a second :P). We had to do this a couple of times the
entire night, to keep ourselves warm and safe.

All through the night, we heard bear grunts from a little distance away. A few tense minutes later, we heard bears grunt, foxes howl and a couple of birds circling over us, making screeching noises. I am not quite sure what birds they were, but they sounded like falcons or eagles or may be hawks? I don’t know. It was kinda creepy but super exciting. A few people almost pissed in their pants, but me and a couple others made most of that moment by listening to the sounds and admiring the clear skies and the volatile atmosphere of the forest. Most folks had their share of sleep and I had half an hour to myself, which was BAD!! At around 3:30 our firewood was spent and I took a couple of guys with me, so we could collect anything that could burn! The fencing was a sort of an assurance that no dangerous huge animal would come through. The firewood crisis kinda alienated the snake hazard from our minds. We were prepared to use a snake as firewood too! We were that desperate(Kidding about the snake as firewood thing, but the desperation was super huge!)!! We managed to collect some dry twigs, loads of grass and Hemant also managed to collect some dry dung! I wandered a little more towards the fence and the rest of them were right behind me, when we were shocked. A chill ran through us. The fence, which was an assuring factor, apparently was ripped apart and bent to the ground, clearly by a bear. All of us managed to get ourselves back to sense and we actually laughed it off, probably ‘cos we were still alive, considering there wasn’t any fencing left in that part of the forest!

The Supermoon! 19th March 2011

I decided to wake everyone up. They had “ENOUGH” sleep and I also was getting way too angry at them sleeping their asses off while I only had half an hour’s sleep. I woke everyone up and we told them what we saw. Once they learnt about the fence, all those sleepy face suddenly turned alert, some pale with fear and others red, with all that blood rushing into their brains :P

At 5am, we heard peacocks and peahens mewing away to glory— some of them even were super nocturnal, mewing through the night intermittently too :P

Around 7 am, after we had our breakfasts on the highway(we had to go back 12 kms to see some civilization), we came back to the same place in

the forest and descended towards the Mallelatheertham waterfalls.

It is your life- Take control!

Life’s taking me for a ride and I’m its rodeo.

Not the kind you would think, not a Spaniard

I’m just the one from my own backyard.

An important crossroad of life I am in.

There’s more to lose than to win

To accept, decline or just think about it,

Decision making is draining a lot of courage and wit

One wrong move and I may have start from the Ice Age.

Nothing that can measure the loss, nor is there a gauge.

Not ready for all the pressure, the face-offs,

I sense the future, all the mock and scoffs.

Even after summoning all my extra- terrestrial strengths

And efforts which extend to inexplicable lengths,

They, those Pummelling thoughts never grow tired drowning my will.

Am I to beguile myself from those dreary thoughts or should I stay still?

Crazy as it may seem, reconciliation (with myself) seems a ghastly task.

That face across the street, is it me or is it just another mask?

The moment has come to ask myself what I want.

Will I give an answer or will I stray? I’m no truant.

Life’s taking me for a ride and I’m its rodeo.

Not the kind you would think, not a Spaniard

There is not much to worry, this is not a dirge.

If it is anything, I have let a few things merge.

I’ll set things straight and when I tune the radio,

I’ll hear a new tune- It’s my life and I’m its rodeo!

64 years of Freedom- 64 years of INEQUALITY and CORRUPTION!

~~ I decided to complete a few if not all the drafts pending on my blog dashboard. This one was subject to solitary confinement to the dashboard for almost an year now! And this is a delicate topic and I'm definitely inviting brickbats and criticism. The door's open! :D

Happy Independence Day! (Belated though!! :D..I just took a Looooooong time to post this one.. It was almost complete but never found the will to finish it..)

Independence from what? The British?

Are we really an Independent country today? For a country which boasts of its equality towards every religion, language, caste or sex and its Democracy, are the leaders of this country removing the divide which exists in people or are they widening it?

Why do we still have discrimination amongst people?

Why specify castes?

What is the need for reservations, now that India has become more open to changes and has a large number of people working from both sexes and from all castes? There still is scope for a HUGE improvement when it comes to acceptance of people who belong to the third sex- the eunuchs. I’ll write about it later may be.

With an increasing number of people getting educated, employed and who understand that the country needs to evolve, grow and develop, so they can too, don’t you think the constitution has to undergo some changes. What better than to get rid of this cancerous growth called Reservation from our system?

While I sometimes feel happy that a few make good use of Reservation by putting their heart into their studies and doing justice to the Government’s initiative, I detest it “MOST” times when I look at students who attend classes just for the sake of their attendance, so they can get their scholarship fees which almost always turns into beer bottles by the end of the week. The cycle just continues. And some of these students are from really well-to-do families, each with dozens of acres and farms and shops and a healthy business. Doesn’t their conscience ask them why they aren’t spending their money on their kids’ education and growth, when they actually can?

Isn’t the Government creating a divide by classifying the common man as SC/ST/OC or WHATEVER!?? My initial few days at college were spent just by filling forms which asked me about my caste, religion and sex. During that process, I learnt that a good friend of mine was a Scheduled Cast, SO WHAT?

Reservations are alright if the government checks on the background of a person before awarding it. If a person is not well to do, irrespective of what caste/sex/religion he/she is, reservations can be awarded. Merely, showing his/her caste to procure a reservation is madness. Whatever happens to the equality mantra? No wonder clashes between sections of the society still exist! I’ve never thought about what caste or religion before making friends. How does it differentiate people? It does not! People differentiate themselves. And by emphasizing on different castes, and dissecting the population between a whole lot of unwanted caste and creed, the government is actually keeping the tradition alive, where an upper caste person thinks twice before interacting with one from a lower caste. The lower caste hates the upper caste and it goes on.

I, right now hate myself for using the caste examples. I never do, but it was necessary.

FCI go-downs in Bihar have over 100 Quintals of rice rotting and going waste. All this, in a country where the poor die of hunger.

A below poverty line family is entitled to 15 Kilograms gets 13 kilos of subsidised rice and 2 kilos of rotten rice. 2 kilos of rotten rice is “COMPULSORY”!! Compulsory? Some use this as cattle food and for some, it’s a choice between an empty stomach and rotten rice.

Today(4th Apr 2011), Anna Hazare brought forth the “Lokpal bill”(click to read more about it) issue again, asking for it to be implemented. He’s going to start an indefinite hunger fast until it is implemented. Just like the Ombudsman institution which is highly practiced in the Scandinavian countries, the Lokpal enables the body to investigate into any complaint either through the government or a private investigating organisation. The Lokpal will have total control over corruption and promises transparency within the Political, Organisational and any circuit where fraud and crime can be committed.

Wishing for a better India by the next Independence Day! No matter how much corrupt the politicians are, how many leeches exist within our society, we will always hold our heads high while calling ourselves Indian. Imagine the amount of pride we would gain when we belong to a new India which truly treats everyone equally, which makes proper use of the taxes deducted from the hard earned money and is led by a solid unit with exemplary visions. I wish!

India-- Cricket World Cup 2011 Champions!!

Woooohoooo!! We are the Cricket World Champions now. The Indian team has done it!! Victorious over Sri Lanka, the Indian team showed great sportsmanship, determination and unyielding courage to win theCricket World Cup 2011 final against the very strong and balanced Sri Lankan side. It was a day when the Indian team was exceptionally flawless as a fielding unit. There were dives and desperate, yet confident attempts everywhere. Why? It was 'THE' day when Gauti dived to save himself when India was batting. That gave me that extra sense of belief that India WILL win this epic match:D.

Well, may be the Sri Lankan side wasn’t all that balanced, attributing to Angelo Mathews’ injury which kept him out of play. With him injured, they were one batsman and bowler less. They opted for Suraj Randiv- who didn’t prove effective at all! The start was a shaky one, with confusion over the toss. The toss happened twice and the Sri Lankans went on to bat first and they amassed quite some runs, thanks to Mahela’s super awesome batting and a few slog shots from their tail-ender.

I saw the first innings of the match at Zia’s place along with Prashant, Vj Karan and Somu. When the first innings finished, I told them I had to get back since I had to watch the match with family too. Came back and watched the second innings of the match with family. India’s start was super shaky!! Sehwag goes out for a duck and Sachin got out with 18 runs to his credit; we were hoping he’d become the tournament top scorer. He only needed 19 more runs to become the top scorer—Alas!

Being the sentimental Indian with respect to cricket, I changed places, hoping things would get better. I found myself a place – a room away, with the television in the far end of the other room. Thanks to my Alien eye-sight, I had no trouble following the scores and other statistics. The change in place actually worked! Gautam Gambhir played a good knock with Virat Kohli and then with Dhoni. I moved a bit to get my laptop charger and he got out!! That only made me more careful and I was a breathing statue for the next few minutes. Dhoni along with Yuvraj then played what seemed like one of the best knocks off his bat! It was 72 runs required off 71 balls! I then chucked all the superstition, found a chair and went all guns, cheering India for every run, every boundary and anything which increased the runs on the scoreboard. The decibel levels in that room suddenly increased to an insane level and after the next 40 minutes of the same insane cheering and whistling, I witnessed the chota-helicopter shot off Dhoni’s blade. INDIA WINS THE WORLD CUP!! I shouted with joy, whistled—so much that I ran out of air in my lungs. The next 30 minutes, no one could hear anything. Everyone was shouting, lighting fireworks, congratulating each other. It was crazy!

I had to click this. I didn't wait for the auto-focus. But, what the hell!!

I then received a phone call from friends who joined the group at Zia’s place, asking me to come there so we could all go for a long drive, probably the city outskirts. I took a few friends along, reached Zia’s place. We congratulated each other; spoke at length to friends I haven’t seen in 6 months and we then packed ourselves into Murali’s mammoth Safari, headed towards Shamirpet. The drive was crazy!!. I was a little uncomfortable, thanks to the knee bruise from the accident I had recently; but all the pain disappeared when we got out of the windows, shouting slogans, cheering Team India and taking pictures of each other.

About half an hour later, we reached a dhaba, which obviously was filled with people who were all talking about the match, waving the Indian Flag, wearing the Indian cricket team’s jerseys and some with the Indian colours on their arms and faces. It was a splendid scene. Everyone was wishing everyone. No one was a stranger! A little while later, we switched to music, danced- strangers joined us too. After a super blah blah session, we ordered food, drinks and started back at around 5 am. Super awesome!! The feeling still hasn’t left and Indians will be more Indian for a few more days!! A day to remember!

And why not? India is in the world cup finals and will win it! I’ve given my word to a couple of friends that I’d watch the match with them. We planned this one especially after watching the historic win over Pakistan in the Quarter-Finals of the Cricket World Cup 2011together at a local pub. The crowd that day was hysteric, filled with a zillion thoughts- all focused on just one thing; India ‘has’ to win over Pakistan. The fanatic in every Indian broke his silence, got out of the hibernation mode and cheered non-stop with eyes swollen with hopes of winning the match against Pakistan and then winning the world cup!

That’s my plan and I also have to watch the match with family. So, I think I’ll watch the first innings at home and then watch the second one at Zia’s place or vice versa. I definitely can’t be in two places at the same time :P.. I wonder why I can’t? One should work towards devising something which can enable a person to be in two places at the same time. It’d be the best invention ever. Or may be the most notorious one too!

Well, even an alien like me can’t stray away from all the Cricket madness. I’m cricket-crazy too. And this time, it’s gotten the better of me. Hope India wins the World Cup today. It will only be another Diwali. 2011 will celebrate 3 Diwalis!! Woaah quite something eh! :D..

Good luck Team India.. Chak De. Pluck De... Every thing De. Just Win I say! (oooh that was a rhyme too :P)..

Am I trying to rhyme? Naah.. that’s just the miserable me trying something lol:D.. Get back to watching cricket now!!:P
